Thousand Islands Museum

Education Coordinator



Job Description


The Thousand Islands Arts Center seeks an experienced Education Coordinator to organize classes and educational programming, and assist with membership. Our top candidate will be a highly organized individual with a positive attitude and proven ability to provide excellent administrative and communications support in executing all the organizational tasks relating to the educational aspects of the Center. We seek an individual who is a self-starter, can manage multiple projects, and can proactively and independently solve problems. The ideal candidate must have strong people skills. Computer proficiency is a must, while graphic skills and experience with software such as InDesign are considered helpful. This is a full time (40 hours per week) position with salary range in the mid 20?s and health benefits available.

Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree; Experience in administrative support; Experience with marketing and communication; Outstanding project management skills; Excellent internet search skills; Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, database management programs, and Excel; Accuracy, discretion and attention to detail; Ability to work flexible hours, with some evening and weekend hours required; Self-directed and energetic; Able to initiate projects and seek creative solutions to problems. Preferred Qualifications: Previous work in a small non-profit and educational areas. Primary Responsibilities: Coordination of teachers, classes, and students from start to finish; Database management; Generate member renewal and thank-you letters/basic stewardship and correspondence; Assemble marketing materials for classes, both specialized and general; Other duties as assigned.
